ANYA AND THE PURPLE BUTTERFLY AND THE BUTTERFLY STORIES
Anya and the Purple Butterfly is the first in a series of butterfly stories which seek to inspire, uplift and to comfort and encourage wounded or fragile souls.
The Butterfly Stories project starts with the stories themselves and has various layers of interest and exploration:
- an open content / open source ethos by sharing the story online for free. A printed version of the story was distributed for free by Litro (www.litro.co.uk), in winter 2007.
- valuing and encouraging creativity through school visits and discussing the creative process and turning over the myth of the creative genius. The Schools’ Program includes a reading of the story, discussing how the process from idea to completion can go through many versions, mistakes and fun, making individual and collaborative artwork and a butterfly dance.
- new business models by stepping aside from the traditional publishing model and exploring independent and online distribution models and print-on-demand.
- using social media to engage in discussions relating to these and related areas of interest, including transformation of what needs to be changed in the world!
